El Pecador (The Sinner)

These songs are about men in need of Spiritual Works of Mercy. How would you counsel their doubts, instruct their ignorance, admonish them for their sins, comfort them in their sorrow, and pray for them? Remember that we must bare wrongs committed by such men patiently and forgive them for injuring us. We all know men like this and many of us meet new men like this everyday. We must ask ourselves these same questions about each man. We must be mindful that we are such men ourselves and be willing to receive correction from men as if God Himself were correcting us.

Sin is no laughing matter. We must take even our venial sins very seriously.

“Think you that these Galileans were sinners above all the men of Galilee, because they suffered such things? No, I say to you: but unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen upon whom the tower fell in Siloe and slew them: think you that they also were debtors above all the men that dwelt in Jerusalem? No, I say to you: but except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.”
